Meridene and her husband John have lived and worked in many places in the U.S. and abroad, including Puerto Rico, Mexico, the Philippines, and Panama. They are the parents of three children.

She taught school in Mesa and Tempe, Arizona, where she received recognition and awards for her skills as a classroom teacher.

Meridene studied Chinese Brush Painting in the 1980's at the Chinese Artists’ Guild, Manila, Philippines, under the direction of Professor Chen Bing-Sun, of Shanghai and Manila.

“Painting is a very special part of my life. Some of my paintings convey a sense of peace and tranquility. Others are bold and energetic. I enjoy painting in both styles.”

Her paintings have been exhibited in the Philippines, Panama, Arizona, and at the Springville Art Museum in Utah. They currently are in private collections in Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, and the United States.

Meridene and John live in Provo, Utah, where Meridene continues to find great delight in pursuing Chinese Brush Painting.
